Moving forward just a bit from the section of Mark 14 we spent the last three weeks in we get to Gethsemane. Here we encounter what Martin Luther called the most astonishing words in the Bible. Even to begin to understand them we will need to review just who Jesus was and what he came to do. Then as we listen to his prayer perhaps we will not be astonished so much as humbled and filled with gratitude. Holy ground Sunday.
