Weekly Announcements
Sunday School Classes begin today. The elementary children will continue working through “The Biggest Story” program, with Elijah kicking things off! The Jr. High class will continue their work through the Shorter Catechism, and the Sr. High class will be looking at “How to Study the Bible”. The adult class will be working through a Vocation series after a brief two-week discussion on “The new covenant is the only covenant of grace”. Below are the elementary/youth teachers this fall.

Youth Group Kick-Off: Middle School and Senior High Youth Group will kick off the new school year this evening, 6:00-9:00 pm. The Middle Schoolers (Welcome, 6th grade parents!) will meet at the church, and the High Schoolers are meeting at Gary and Carol Agate’s house. Contact Chris Bovard with any questions.

First Reformed 225th Celebration: First Reformed Presbyterian Church organized as a church on December 18, 1800, making this their 225th year of ministry in Pittsburgh. Ladies’ Wednesday AM Bible Study: Starting on Wednesday, October 7th we are excited to begin our study of the Gospel of Luke! We will celebrate our gathering with a Brunch and Introduction to Luke on 10/7. We meet the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month from 9:30-11:30 am at New Covenant and will be working our way through “The Servant King: A Study of the Gospel of Luke” by Hope Blanton & Christine Gordon. College Assistance Grant: Applications Now Open!
New Covenant Presbyterian Church believes in supporting our young adults as they pursue higher education. Applications are now being accepted for our annual College Assistance Grant for the upcoming academic year.
Key Details:
- The Grant: A flat award of $500 paid directly to your Christian college.
- Who Can Apply: Full-time undergraduate students who have been church members for at least two years and are in good standing.
- Bonus Impact: If your Christian college offers a Church Match Scholarship Program (such as Geneva College), this grant is structured to help you qualify for matching campus funds!
Please note that grants do not renew automatically. You must submit a new application every year.
